Julie McLaren has three grown-up children and seven grandchildren. She retired recently after a prolonged period of semi-retirement. She worked as an advisory teacher for children in care for many years, and found this work very rewarding, but now the time has come to commit fully to her first love: writing. She published her first novel, 'The Music of the Spheres' in July 2013 and has since published seven others.
