I grew up in the New Forest, studied French in Birmingham and Bordeaux, became a film scholar, dabbled with teaching, and finally moved to London. I share a flat with a little black cat, cook curries, and write stories.
âItâs foggy,â Prancer said simply. âHe needs you, Rudy.â In his lonely corner, Rudolph bit into his carrot. âMe? Old âCancersnoutâ?â Donner trotted over, her harness tinkling. âWe werenât picking on you...â âWhen I asked to play Buckaroo, you said âPiss off, Bigfootâs Bellendâ!â âWe were protecting you. We knew this day would come. Youâll need that resilience.â Sudden scratching at the door startled the reindeer. âOh, Rudolph,â a reedy voice wailed, âwith your nose so brightâŚâ Donner stared into Rudolphâs pained eyes, over his bulbous nasal beacon. âYou can do this. Become the legend you were born to be.â
