Alex Mahon was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1964 to parents of Irish ancestry. He moved to Renfrew in 1971, close to Glasgow Airport, where his love of adventure began. Since 1984 he has lived and worked in many countries, including Germany, Australia and now Spain, where he works as an English teacher.
