ASIN not recognized

I am trying to build my author profile by adding my books, but my ASIN comes back as "not recognized." I verified that it is correct and even tried a different book. It doesn't work either. I have submitted my ASIN on many sites--I'm not a total newbie. Can you please help?
Update: This problem resolved itself. Even though I logged out and tried a different browser to no avail before, A few hours later I tried again and it worked.

Amazon limits the number of times we can pull data from their site. So we probably reached our limit. Admittedly, we could do with some more helpful error messages.
