I have visited Luxor eight times over the past 15 years and I too find it fascinating. The place that intrigues me most is Karnak Temple - I spend hours just wondering around and I can feel the atmosphere of times past. Dendarah is another Temple that is fascinating. The last time I was there it was being cleaned and the original colours showing through - azure blue and gold - amazing.

I am really gutted. I did Rome last year and wanted to do Egypt this year. With all of the troubles at the moment I wouldn't feel safe going, on a real downer over this.
