Final Descent

by Julie Vicky Sanford
Originally published by BookHippo.uk on 05/05/2018

The cold air bit at her ankles as she walked across the tightrope. High in the sky, she took a moment to re-centre.

Once she was sure she was sturdy, she continued, one delicate foot in front of the other.

The crowd below looked on. They could be separated into two groups. Those who could barely look, the stakes too high… with no safety net, it would be fatal. Then there were the morbid ones, who had heard about the terrible accident. With bated breath they watched, knowing too well that a misplaced foot could mean her final descent.
