The Pretty Lights

by Christopher John Assaf
Originally published by BookHippo.uk on 03/05/2018

Dear Diary,

Last night, I saw them! Right here in Greenland!

Oh man! Those pretty lights, the wonders of God’s creation.

They looked like spotlights, with their colours illuminating the evening sky.

They constantly changed colour, from light green to light yellow.

If I had my phone with me, I would have sent a picture home to my family.

“Lights out, Maricar,' barked one of the guards after knocking on my door.

I nodded and looked back out the window. Only three more months before I could go back home, but at least I got to see those pretty lights.
