The Crown

by Adrienne Ferguson
Originally published by BookHippo.uk on 09/03/2018

The Queen regarded her feet. Her toes were hurting. She hadn’t wanted to wear these shoes. At least she was sitting on the throne. That made it a little easier. When she had to stand, she could really feel them pinching her.

The Prince was about to enter. She turned her head to the right and the crown slipped, partially covering her eye. Oh great, she thought! I must look ridiculous. He was about to bow and kiss her hand.

Yuk! This, she had told her mum, was the worst part of having the lead role in the school play.
