The Last Race

by Rose English
Originally published by BookHippo.uk on 10/04/2016

The fragrant spring breeze gently blew over the meadow. The last dandelion clock prepared for the big race; it was not a race to the finish, but a contest of agility - which seed would get the furthest, in the least amount of time?

The athletes shivered in anticipation, each seed nudging its neighbour. The wind whirled, caressing the wildflowers that cheered and waved. It rippled over the grass, tickling and teasing those who waited in anticipation of the final battle. The bluebells rang out, signifying for the seeds to be ready.

Then it was here, and they were off!
