Dr. Danford dropped out of high school at the age of 16. After two years as a commercial fisherman in The Gulf of Mexico, he realized that he wanted more from his life. Gerard returned to Connecticut, earned his HSED and began working in a machine tool factory (as a machinist apprentice). Gerard at the same time began to attend Community College at night school. That was the beginning of his formal educational journey. He completed the apprentice program and shortly after, graduated with an honors degree in Industrial Engineering (1979, Central Connecticut State University). In 1980...
