End to End: John O'Groats, Broken Spokes and a Dog called Gretna by Alistair McGuinness

End to End: John O'Groats, Broken Spokes and a Dog called Gretna

by Alistair McGuinness

Land's End to John O'Groats is considered to be one of most epic cycle rides in the world. Within the space of 900 miles, cyclists experience all that Britain has to offer, from windswept moors, remote headlands, whisper quiet roads, historic villages, and snow-capped hills. That's the theory anyway. But if you don't train, pack inferior clothing and use an out of date map, anything can happen.

Alistair McGuinness

After four decades living in England, I now live in the south west of Australia with my wife, two children and a crazy dog called Peppi. We live between the ocean and the forest, in a small coastal town called Busselton and some days have kangaroos bouncing past our front door!

Storytelling runs in my family. My Great Uncles were Seanachaís (Irish storytellers) and as a child, I always enjoyed listening to their animated tales about rural life in Donegal. I love travelling and have decided to write stories instead of telling them!
