Hello and welcome to the brand new BookHippo.uk forum.

This is a platform for you to discuss our offers, drabbles and anything book related.

Aha! A good idea, Rosen. I love the way your newsletter is set out, especially the drabble at the end. I am also noticing the way your system is placing books I'd probably like at the top of the list.

Thank you.

great idea, hi all :)

I'm late for the show - but it looks an interesting place. I've not mixed with the on-line writer's world much for 12 months. I just ventured back into Good Reads where I picked up this link. Well done Ros.

I'm still writing and still near Whitby.

I wonder why BookHippo doesn't feature discount deals for non-fiction books. Obviously I'm not bias, but I truly think that many readers would be glad if they discovered my Essence of Existence, which will be discounted on Amazon.co.uk on Oct.5. and 6.

We do list non-fiction books, we just don't accept user submitted of non-fic without prior agreement, due to getting inundated with spam. It's sad when the few ruin it for the masses, but it just wasn't viable to keep accepting reference books. There's no fast way to check which are legit and the implications of featuring an inaccurate non-fic book are greater than the implications of featuring badly written fiction.

KZLairyfairy on 19.10.2016 12:06

Hi everyone. I have to say it's very sad that review copies are no longer available on Book Hippo. I have reviewed and alerted several authors to typos/grammar/repeated words/line spacing errors etc as these seem to jump off the page at me and this has enabled authors to review and amend as necessary.

I do this for free as a hobby and would like to invite authors to contact me if they would like me to do a final read-through prior to publishing.

I hope that this might be acceptable if authors don't ask for a review on Amazon; or maybe there is another site offering review copies? Please let me know.

I wish there could be some middle ground so that the review copies could be offered on Book Hippo again. It's so exciting to discover "new" authors.

I published a full statement about ending the review exchange area.

We've started featuring books in our daily deals that have very low numbers of reviews. That is the middle ground.

Hi

Am New to Drabble and have a lot more respect for people on here who can form short stories into no more and no less 100 words.

I have tried with two of my own (old short stories) not sure it has fitted well, but will try some from scratch if possible.

Hope all on here are well and look forward to reading and writing more.

Thank you for taking part. I look forward to reading your offerings.

Thank you Rosen. I have posted and put up a separate post, but no comments as of yet. May be am to green, lol

Drabbles don't attract a great deal of comments, but I believe they are widely read.

on 22.01.2018 08:40

Hi Rosen, or anyone else reading this, not sure if you can help. But I wrote several drabbles and two have been chosen (one already posted and another due to be posted). However my other Dribbles have vanished without trace, am I looking for them in the wrong place. I thought they would still be on my main page for editing until, possibly, at some time they were published.

Welcome to the forum. We're mostly a daily newsletter service. The forum's here primarily to support that.

Welcome to all you new folks! The drabbles are very much appreciated by all of us subscribers and we often chatter about them among ourselves because, as you say, they are not as easy as they look.

Thank you to all who write them.
